Greenfile Developments and UCATT have been active in promoting sustainable
development since the original PROJECT build in 2000.
This has now been supplemented
by Project NoWaste and Project Sus'd.
PROJECT build 2000 /
PROJECT build 2005
This project was a partnership between UCATT and Greenfile Developments
Ltd, a specialist consultancy in lean construction and sustainable
development and part funded by the DTI's Partnerships in Innovation
programme.
PROJECT build 2000 forms
the foundation of UCATT's sustainability skills development programme.
It comprises five main modules: personal effectiveness, organisational

Project NoWaste
This is another partnership between Greenfile Developments and UCATT,
other partners include Bovis Lend Lease and the London Business Link.
The first phase of Project NoWaste was part-funded by the Carbon Trust.
Project NoWaste takes the skills developed
in PROJECT build 2000 a stage further by linking
lean construction to construction site activities. The focus
is on improving site organisation: reducing waste and environmental
impacts and to improve health and safety. Phase 1 of Project
NoWaste started in September 2003 and concluded at
the end of 2004. |
 |
|
Phase 2 of Project NoWaste is currently on-going and is a partnership
between Bovis Lend Lease and Greenfile Developments only.
Project NoWaste is a National Champion in the Green Apple Awards
(2005). The project won the category of Waste Management - Construction.
It is also one of the short listed finalist for the Building Magazine
Sustainability Awards 2005. |
